Welcome to NestEgg! We are excited to help you get your account set up in 5 easy steps.
Step 1: Open your NestEgg invitation
Depending on the information your landlord submitted, you will receive an invitation via email, text, or both. Click the link in that invitation to navigate to the sign-up step.
Step 2: Create your free account
Create a password for your account and sign in to begin our short onboarding process.
Step 3: Review your account details
Once you login you will see your tenancy details, including your property address and monthly rent amount. Don’t worry, you don’t need to pay the full amount of rent on account creation. You can submit multiple rent payments over the course of the month, and if you have roommates you can split rent payments as you desire. Please let your landlord know if any information is inaccurate to what your lease agreement states.
Step 4: Set up your payment method
You can choose between linking a bank account (free) or credit/debit card (2.9% fee).
When linking a bank account you can use instant verification via Plaid, or you can proceed with manual verification. We strongly recommend instant verification as it is secure and fast. Manual verification requires email correspondence with a NestEgg representative to process micro-deposits for payment authorization.
During this process you will be asked if you would like to set up autopay. This feature allows you to schedule an automatic monthly rent payment that will process on the 1st of every month. If you don’t set up autopay you will need to log in every month to manually send payments. You can turn autopay on or off at any time via payment settings.
Step 5: Make or schedule a payment
After setting up your payment method you’ll be taken to your home page where you can make a payment on your current balance, which will include your monthly rent plus potential fees (monthly fees such as parking, or one-time fees such as move-in cleaning, etc.) When you select “Pay rent” you will have the ability to review your payment details, payment method, and specify how much you would like to pay towards your outstanding balance.
Please keep in mind that payments may take 2-3 days to process. While the payment is processing it will be labeled as “Pending” in your recent payments, and will move to “Completed” once the payment posts to your landlord.
